| This
person is responsible for the general care & maintenance of all pets boarded
in the kennel. Applicants must be responsible, punctual and
dependable. Pets in our facility must be cared for promptly, every
day. Little or no absenteeism is extremely important.
The current position is for the weekday, AM shift. We start our
day sharply at 7:30 AM and work until our tasks are completed. The
workday can vary between four to six hours per day. Starting pay is
$6.00/hr. (There is a short study course available. After
completing the study and passing an open book test, pay will increase
to $6.50.) Additional raises will be based on performance and
longevity. Health insurance benefits are available for persons working
30 hours or more per week. Experience is not necessary, however a
genuine love for animals is a must. You must be able to handle dogs of
all sizes without being afraid of them and without allowing them to control
you. You must be in good physical condition, able to squat, stoop,
bend, lift, and do a lot of walking. Must be willing to maintain the
highest standards in cleanliness. There will be opportunities
for advancement, if you excel.
General duties include but are not limited to:
- Feeding & Watering of all Pets
- Administering Medications brought in with
Pets
- Walking Pets
- Monitoring Food/ Water Consumption
- Scooping Poop and hosing down outside patios
(year round)
- Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting indoor
areas daily
- Light grounds maintenance (watering plants,
weeding flower gardens)
- Booking reservations, appointments etc.
- Providing pets with TLC and exercise
(requires daily hiking)
- Bathing and brushing pets
- Clipping nails and cleaning ears
